Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information StockWatch.report ("StockWatch.report," "we," "us," or "our") collects, how we use it, and the choices and rights available to you. It applies to everyone who visits stockwatch.report or creates an account.
1. Information We Collect
We collect a deliberately small amount of information:
- Account information. If you register for an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. Your password is never stored in plain text — it is hashed using bcrypt before it ever touches our database (see our Security page for details).
- Newsletter subscription. If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect the email address you provide. A newsletter subscription does not require an account and is not linked to one.
- Session data. When you sign in, we set a single authentication cookie to keep you signed in. See our Cookie Policy for details.
We do not currently collect payment card details, government identifiers, precise location data, or biometric data, and we do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers on this site.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account and authenticate you when you sign in.
- To provide the service you request, including gated continuous-coverage content for subscribers.
- To send you the newsletter you subscribed to.
- To communicate with you about your account, security notices, or changes to our policies.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your account information to serve targeted advertising, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers. We use third-party infrastructure to operate the site — for example, database hosting, and, where enabled by an administrator, an AI gateway used to help generate research content and a market data provider used to look up stock quotes. These providers receive only the information necessary to perform their function (e.g., a stock ticker symbol for a quote lookup); they do not receive your name, email, or password.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
- Business transfers. If StockWatch.report is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same protections described here.
4. Data Retention
We retain account information for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we will remove your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal, security, or legitimate business purposes (for example, records needed to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements). Newsletter email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including password hashing, encrypted storage of sensitive configuration secrets, and role-based access controls for administrative functions. Full details are available on our Security page. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@stockwatch.report.
All users. You can review and update your name and password at any time from your account page. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any newsletter email, or by contacting us. You may ask us to delete your account and associated personal information.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and other GDPR-covered users. You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to restrict or object to certain processing; to receive a copy of your data in a portable format; and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. Our legal basis for processing account information is the performance of our contract with you (providing the service you signed up for) and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site; the newsletter is processed on the basis of your consent. If you believe we have not adequately addressed a concern, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
California and other US state residents. You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of your personal information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so no opt-out action is necessary for that. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.
7. International Data Transfers
StockWatch.report may process and store information on servers located in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps intended to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection, consistent with applicable law.
8. Children's Privacy
StockWatch.report is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. Third-Party Links
Our reports and pages may link to third-party websites, including news sources and financial data providers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies separately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the site after a change becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
11. Contact Us
